FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

June 20, 2013

June 2013 Tax Press ConferenceOhio Republican Party (ORP) Chairman Matt Borges today praised the tax reform plan proposed by Ohio Republican leaders.

“Republican leaders are delivering real tax relief to Ohio families and small businesses,” said ORP Chairman Matt Borges.  “All told, Ohioans will get to keep $2.6 billion of their hard earned money and our economy can keep adding jobs.”

Under the Republicans’ proposal, small businesses will receive a fifty percent tax cut giving them the confidence and flexibility to grow.  In addition, all Ohioans will receive a significant income tax cut that will inject more dollars into the economy and help drive Ohio’s continued momentum.

Tax relief in the state budget would mark the second consecutive budget that the Governor and Republican Legislature delivered tax relief to Ohioans. In the previous budget, Republicans eliminated the death tax and preserved a $400 million income tax cut.

As a result of Republican leadership, Ohioans have created nearly 150,000 new private sector jobs, wages are up, and the state has been recognized for having the most improved business climate in the nation.
